Zelensky Heads To Washington For Talks With Trump

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, August 18.

The Ukrainian leader said in Telegram.

Zelensky had a long and substantial conversation with Trump, first one-on-one and then with the participation of European leaders.

The total time of the talks exceeded an hour and a half, with Trump - about an hour.

"We support President Trump's proposal for a trilateral meeting Ukraine - America - Russia. Ukraine emphasizes: key issues can be discussed at the level of leaders, and the trilateral format is suitable for this," he stressed.

The Ukrainian president also emphasized the importance of involving European partners to reliably ensure Ukraine's security together with the United States.

He added that he continues to coordinate positions with all allies and thanks everyone who supports Ukraine.

Zelensky said that details on ending the war and killings will be discussed with Trump during a meeting in Washington on Monday.
