Italy Backed Macron Over Possible Meeting Place For Zelensky And Putin

This is not the Rome favored by Trump and Zelensky himself.

French President Emmanuel Macron is pushing for Geneva to be the venue for a trilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, U.S. leader Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This is reported by Sky News.

The French president said this morning, according to media reports, that the meeting between Zelensky, Trump and Putin should take place in a neutral country, which means possibly Switzerland or another country.

"I am in favor of Geneva," Macron said.

At the same time, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also said that Geneva could be the best place for the trilateral meeting, adding that "Italy supports it."

The Italian capital, Rome, is favored by Trump and Zelensky. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance also backed Trump regarding Rome.

"We are still evaluating several locations (for a possible meeting - ed.)," EU diplomats said on condition of anonymity.
