The U.S. president plans to "have several meetings."
US President Donald Trump has not ruled out holding talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin within ten days before the expiration of the "deadline" to settle the war in Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the head of state's interview with journalists.
One of the media representatives asked whether the head of state plans to hold talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin before the "deadline" of 10 days is over.
"We will see what happens. We plan to have some meetings," the American leader said.
Trump's ultimatum
In July, Donald Trump harshly criticized Putin for his massive shelling of Ukraine and gave the dictator 50 days to reach peace with Kiev.
If he refused, he threatened to impose sanctions against countries that buy Russian oil and additional sanctions against Russia.
On July 29, however, Trump abruptly cut the deadline to 10 days and set Aug. 8 as a new "deadline" because of the lack of progress in the peace process.
