We're most likely talking about a drone.
Poland's Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz voiced the three most probable hypotheses regarding the overnight explosion in a village in Lublin voivodeship.
His words are quoted by RMF24.
On the morning of August 20, it became known that an unknown object fell on a cornfield in the village of Osiny in Poland's Lublin voivodeship, which then exploded.
"Most likely, we are talking about a drone that crashed. It does not yet have any signs that would indicate its military nature," Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The military is now analyzing the three most likely hypotheses regarding the overnight explosion, he said. Poland suspects that the explosion could have been caused by: a Russian drone, a smuggling drone or an act of sabotage on Polish territory.
"We should not rule out what has already happened in other countries - an act of sabotage or sabotage on Polish territory. So far we have dealt with arson, such as the arson on Mariwilska Street. We already know that this was an incident inspired by the Russian Federation," the national defense minister said, referring to a fire in a shopping mall in Warsaw that occurred on May 12, 2024.
The Polish military has already said that according to preliminary results of an analysis of radar recordings, no violation of Polish airspace by Ukraine or Belarus was recorded during the night.
