In The State Duma Demanded To Include Songs By Gazmanov And "Shaman" In The Repertoire Of Kindergartens

Children want to be accustomed to propaganda from an early age.

On September 1, Russian schoolchildren will begin studying "patriotic works" by contemporary artists, including "Shaman" (Yaroslav Dronov) and Oleg Gazmanov. However, the State Duma believes that this is not enough: First Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee Mikhail Berulava in an interview with "Abzats" called for the initiative to be extended to preschool educational institutions, writes The Moscow Times.

"The songs by Gazmanov and 'Shaman' are good. It's a great start for education. I believe that such music will develop a patriotic feeling," the lawmaker said, adding that Russia should be loved because "this is a great country." To give weight to his words, Berulava cited an example allegedly taken from the pedagogical practice of Anton Makarenko: "Once a comrade asked Makarenko: "How to bring up a child? He is only eleven months old." To which the teacher replied: 'Friend, you are exactly eleven months late'."

Even in January, MP Sergey Kolunov announced the introduction of compulsory performance of "patriotic" compositions by the above-mentioned authors, as well as the band Lyube, in school music lessons for students in grades 1-8 from September 1, 2025. "By mid-February, a working version of the songbook will be compiled, and by summer it will be discussed with experts. From the fall, children will already be studying patriotic songs by modern authors," the MP said.

Among the works that should be included in the program, he called "Let's Stand Up" performed by "Shaman," "Moscow Region Evenings" and "Don't Be Sad." The deputy also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that in the current school program, except for the anthem, there are practically no "patriotic compositions", but jazz and even The Beatles are present.

Kolunov has repeatedly touched on this topic: in the spring of 2024, he assured that the Ministry of Education supported the idea of including "patriotic songs" in the educational process, and a little earlier he claimed that parents and teachers themselves allegedly asked to add a "patriotic playlist" to the school program.

Along with the musical initiatives in the education system continues the implementation of the propaganda project "Conversations about Important", launched in September 2022. Despite the fact that formally they are not part of the compulsory educational program, parents report pressure on children, up to and including threats of expulsion for refusing to attend.

According to "Vedomosti", from the first of September this year "Conversations about Important" will also begin to be held in kindergartens in eighteen Russian regions, including Moscow. The classes will also be mandatory in the partially occupied Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. The project will be implemented as an experiment, following the results of which the Ministry of Education may decide to introduce it universally in all preschool institutions of the country.
