The country's Prime Minister issued a statement.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has reiterated his country's readiness to participate in security guarantees for Ukraine, he said in an interview with Swedish Radio.
Kristersson said that Sweden is ready to help provide security guarantees for Ukraine, "but it has to happen in a safe and secure way in which everyone knows what they are involved in."
He specified that the Swedish side could provide its resources in the field of aerial reconnaissance and naval security.
The Swedish prime minister, however, did not clearly comment on the possibility of sending Swedish troops to Ukraine.
"I think it is not so much about moving a large number of troops from other countries to Ukraine, but about ensuring that Ukraine itself can take responsibility for its country in such a reliable way that Russia will not try (to attack) again," Christersson said.
European officials are discussing a plan to send British and French troops to Ukraine as part of a peace deal, with about 10 countries ready to contribute their military.
