Russia Hits U.S. Electronics Manufacturing Plant

The high-tech production facility is located in Mukachevo.

One of the targets of the Russian night attack on Ukraine was an American electronics factory. This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

"Hundreds of drones, hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles were aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.

One of the missiles hit a large American electronics manufacturing plant in our western region, causing serious damage and casualties. This is a completely civilian facility with nothing to do with defense or the military," Sibiga said.

The minister noted that this is not the first Russian attack on U.S. businesses, recalling the strike on Boeing offices in Kiev earlier this year.

He called it terror against "civilian people, businesses and normal life in our country."

Ukrainian Telegram channels wrote that the Flex plant in the city of Mukachevo was hit.

The head of the Transcarpathian regional military administration Miroslav Biletsky said that at least 15 people were injured because of the Russian strike, with the fire covering an area of about seven thousand square meters.

"Due to the large-scale fire that emerged after the missile strike on the enterprise in Mukachevo, there is significant smoke in the air. Products of combustion can be harmful to health.

I ask all residents in the direction of the spread of smoke to close windows and doors, as well as to refrain from going outdoors unnecessarily. Special attention should be paid to children, elderly people and those with chronic respiratory diseases.

Rescue services are working on site, the situation is under control," Biletsky wrote.

Flextronics is one of the largest contract electronics manufacturers in the world and unites more than 100 factories in different countries. The company has been operating in Ukraine since 2002, having localized high-tech production in Mukachevo.
