Russia's strike on the American Flex plant in Mukachevo was telling and targeted.
Russia's strike on the American Flex plant in Mukachevo was demonstrative and purposeful. This is how Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to jump off the need to hold a meeting at the leaders' level.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing an evening address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky noted that in Mukachevo, the Russians actually burned down an American enterprise that was not a military facility.
He said it was a targeted strike specifically against American property and investments in Ukraine.
"A very telling strike. As is this whole massive attack. Just when the world expects a clear answer from the Russians regarding negotiations to end the war," the president emphasized.
He noted that there are two formats at the level of leaders in which it is realistic to achieve progress. The bilateral format - Ukraine and Russia. And trilateral - Ukraine, the United States and Russia.
This is exactly what was discussed in Washington. Putin also talked about it during his phone call with Trump.
"Now the signals from Russia are just, frankly, obscene. They are trying to jump off the need to hold a meeting. They don't want to end this war. They're continuing massive attacks against Ukraine and very violent assaults on the frontline. And they are also launching missiles at the American enterprise - as well as at many other absolutely civilian our targets," Zelensky emphasized.
