WSJ: Ukraine To Receive More Than Three Thousand American ERAM Missiles

The Trump administration has approved the sale.

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration last week approved the sale of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) air-launched missiles to Ukraine, two U.S. officials said, the Wall Street Journal writes.

The missiles should arrive in Ukraine in about six weeks, they said.

The $850 million arms shipment, largely funded by European countries and including other items, has been delayed until after Trump's summits with dictator Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Few U.S. officials said Ukraine would have to get Pentagon authorization to use the ERAM, which has a range of 241-451 kilometers.

ERAM is Raytheon's latest generation two-stage surface-to-air guided missile. It is designed to combat modern airplanes and UAVs, helicopters, anti-ship cruise missiles over water and land.
