There Was An Explosion Near The FSB Headquarters In Moscow

At least one person has been killed in a gas cylinder explosion at Moscow's Central Children's Store. It is located on Lubyanka Square, next to the headquarters of the Federal Security Service.

It was reported by Reuters.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said there were dead and injured as a result of the "emergency incident." According to him, the cause of the explosion was faulty equipment.

Russian media wrote that a balloon gas cylinder exploded.

The Russian capital's health department said the "incident" occurred on the third floor, two victims were hospitalized and another was treated on the spot.

People were evacuated from the toy store premises, which also houses restaurants, a movie theater and other stores.

Russian Telegram channels reported that one of the three people injured after the explosion at the Central Children's Store turned out to be an FSB officer. His bag with his service ID was found at the scene.

Telegram channel Astra, which published footage from the scene, quotes the victim's wife. She said that her husband suffered serious injuries to his legs and was put into an induced coma at the hospital. He may have come to the children's store from a neighboring building for lunch.
