Lukashenko Has Been Humiliated Even More

That's a lot of notoriety to have!

It was reported that a delegation of the Afghan Embassy in Moscow visited Belarus. During the visit they discussed the conditions of detention and repatriation of Afghan prisoners, Ariana News reported.

On what the reputational outcome of such a visit might be, "Filin" spoke with Valery Karbalevich.

-"I do not exclude that indeed the purpose of the visit was to assess the conditions of detention of their prisoners, citizens of Afghanistan," said Valery Karbalevich. - And this is a very symptomatic example.

It's understandable when the United States, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, Israel, Japan demand the release of their citizens from Belarusian prisons.

But it turns out that even the Taliban are imprisoned in Belarus. This is surprising, because the ruling force "Taliban" is considered a terrorist organization in many countries, and Afghanistan itself is in international isolation.

So one can conclude that Belarus has turned into a black hole, a dangerous zone. Citizens of any country, who enter our country, may find themselves in detention. And even citizens of Afghanistan.

That's how much resonance one should have in the world, how much notoriety, that even the Taliban, for whom the problem of human rights, to put it mildly, is not in the first place, suddenly became concerned about the fate of their citizens in Belarusian prisons.

There is a very vivid illustration of the reputation that Belarus has in the world, not only in the West, but, as it turned out, also in the East.

That is why I do not exclude that now various delegations will come to Belarus and the purpose of their visits will be not economic projects, for example, or political cooperation, but discussion of the release of citizens from Belarusian prisons.

In my opinion, all this is both symbolic and significant.

When Belarusian diplomats went to Afghanistan at the beginning of the year, many people wondered what the prospects for relations between Belarus and Afghanistan might be. It turns out that the most important, the most important area of cooperation is prisoners.

- What conclusions can be drawn if we look at this visit in the context of the ongoing Belarusian-American track?

- They were met secretly and quietly, the Belarusian authorities do not report anything about this visit. You can find information only in Afghan sources.

But I don't think it's because of the Belarusian-American track. It's just not very convenient for the Belarusian authorities that foreign delegations come to Minsk to release their citizens from prisons. Even the Taliban.

Obviously, the reputation of the country they go to with such purposes is bad. That is why the Belarusian authorities keep silent about it.

The Taliban's visit does not intersect with Trump's invitation, because, as far as I understand, the Americans have left Afghanistan and are not interested in this topic.

In contrast to the recent visit of the president of Iran. Here, you could say, there was an inconsistency. The U.S. relations with Iran are very tense, and then the Iranian president comes to Belarus for talks at the very moment when the negotiation process with the U.S. is going on in parallel.

Dissonance was felt even in the course of the talks, when the Iranian president said that we should counteract the U.S. sanctions policy together, and Lukashenko had to say that "we are not friends against anyone". The accents were different, I think, not by chance.
