How The War In Ukraine May End: Two Scenarios Are Named
Vladimir Fesenko

One option has previously been considered in the US.

Political scientist and chairman of the board of the Penta Center for Applied Political Research Vladimir Fesenko has named the two most likely scenarios for ending the war in Ukraine. He made his assumptions in a comment "Glavred".

The first option, he said, is a cease-fire along the front line. By the way, this scenario was also considered by US officials at the beginning of the negotiation process.

The second option is a hybrid or limited peace agreement with a number of additional conditions. We are talking about exchange of prisoners, demobilization on both sides and other steps that still need to be agreed upon.

Fesenko stressed that if the sides accept a limited peace agreement, there must first of all be a ceasefire.

"The first point will be a ceasefire, without which the war will not end, as well as several other points, in particular, the exchange of prisoners of war "all for all", civilians who are in detention. In addition, according to the agreed list, peaceful navigation on the Dnieper, gradual mutual (I stress, mutual, not unilateral reduction of the Ukrainian army) reduction of armed forces in the conflict zone, demobilization on both sides according to the agreed schedule and, possibly, the status of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which is of interest to Trump," the political analyst said.

He adds that the limited peace agreement may include several other points to be agreed upon by the parties.
