There Was A 3.0 Magnitude Earthquake In New York City.

Shaking from Manhattan to the Bronx.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 was recorded in New York (USA). Local residents noted that the tremors were felt throughout the city, from Manhattan to the Bronx.

The epicenter was located northeast of the city of Hasbrouck Heights. There is no information about casualties or damage, reports ABC news.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said a small earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale struck parts of New York City on Saturday evening (02:18:52 UTC).

Its epicenter was northeast of the town of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, in Bergen County, at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

The New York City Office of Emergency Management said tremors may have been felt in some parts of the city, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

USGS analyst Xan Davidson said in comments to ABC News that while earthquakes are relatively rare on the East Coast, a magnitude 3.0 quake is not considered significant.

"We don't expect significant damage. There will just be some shaking," he said.
