A Weapons Factory Suddenly Burst Into Flames In Romania

Sabotage can't be ruled out.

In Romania, a large-scale fire broke out in the town of Cujir at a local factory that produces small arms. Law enforcers do not exclude the possibility of sabotage at the enterprise.

About it reports Radio România Actualități.

It is noted that the mechanical plant in Cudgir produces small arms. The causes of the fire have not been officially established, but the losses have already been estimated at about 400 thousand euros.

At least 150 thousand machine gun cartridges were destroyed by the fire, and another 250 thousand may be damaged and unusable. Criminal proceedings have been launched over the incident: various options are being considered - from a technical fault at the factory to a targeted sabotage.

"I want to find out exactly what happened - was it an external impact or spontaneous combustion. All possible options are being considered with varying degrees of probability. I am waiting for the conclusions of experts," commented Romanian Economy Minister Radu Mirutse on the incident.
