The field will change the rules of the game in the global market.
The deposit of rare earth elements in the American state of Wyoming called "Halleck Creek Project" can radically change the world balance in this area. This is reported by the environmental portal Ecoticias.
The deposit will be developed by the company American Rare Earths Ltd., which owns it. According to the authors of the material, the project can strengthen the U.S. position in the global market of critical materials necessary for the development of the clean energy industry.
The material emphasizes that Wyoming is a traditionally mining region with developed infrastructure, necessary water resources and skilled labor.
"Mineralization corresponds to traditional processing methods, which significantly reduces operating costs. In addition, the content of radioactive elements, such as uranium and thorium, is lower than usual here, minimizing environmental impact," the publication said.
It is estimated that the Halleck Creek Project may contain up to 2.63 billion tons of rare earth element-rich rock suitable for cost-effective mining. And mineral volumes in the most saturated layers could be even higher than the rest of the country.
The confirmed reserves include about 8.64 million tons of rare earth element oxides (TREO), including neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr), as well as dysprosium and terbium. These elements are critical for the production of electric vehicles and other high-tech products.
