In Lithuania, The Entire Government Is Resigning

Following the prime minister.

In Lithuania, amid Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas's decision to resign, the entire government will follow him, Delfi reported.

On Monday morning, August 4, the Lithuanian government will meet to adopt a decree on resignation.

This will be the last meeting of the government chaired by Palutskas.

After that, the current prime minister will submit his resignation to President Gitanas Naousede. After he signs the relevant decree, the entire government will resign.

The president will then be able to appoint one of the ministers as acting prime minister until a new government is formed.

After the presidium of the ruling Social Democratic Party decides on a candidate for the new prime minister, it will have to discuss it with Nauseda.

After that, the president, having chosen a candidate, will present him to the Saeima, which must make a decision on the new prime minister no later than the end of the session.
