Japan Hosts Forum On Ukraine's Economic Recovery

Twenty-nine agreements have been signed.

Tokyo hosted the first Ukrainian-Japanese forum to promote economic recovery of Ukraine, during which the parties signed 29 agreements on cooperation. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The main focus of the event was to strengthen ties between Ukraine and Japan, primarily in such areas:

→ energy and infrastructure;

→ development of production and industrial parks;

→ agro-processing;

→ improving business conditions in war conditions.

"During the forum we had many meetings with Japanese business. Companies are interested in investing hundreds of millions of dollars in various projects in Ukraine. And this means that we are doing very practical work for recovery," said Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Alexey Sobolev.

Agreements on the implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture and food industry, infrastructure and construction, technology and innovation were signed on the margins of the forum.

These include:

→ trilateral declaration between UNIDO, the Ministries of Economy of Japan and Ukraine on green industrial recovery with technology transfer and the creation of a green economy. And it is such an advanced country as Japan that is a reliable partner in Ukraine's recovery and carrying out the necessary transformations", - Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka stressed.

The Ukrainian-Japanese forum on promotion of economic recovery was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan together with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine with the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The forum was attended by representatives of governments, leading organizations and businesses of both countries.
