The company responded to MART's accusations of potato shortages.
According to the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, in April this year, the Tolochyn cannery did not supply the company Dobronom with potatoes from the stabilization fund. At the same time, the enterprise shipped root crops to other organizations and to its own retail network. Therefore, officials believe that the plant had the opportunity to fulfill its obligations under the contract with "Dobronom," but failed to do so.
The Tolochin enterprise, where the correspondent of "Belsat" called as a private citizen, assured that all the potatoes were supplied only to the domestic market:
"We were checked by ten services. All potatoes from August to May went only to the domestic market: to retail chains, sanatoriums, hospitals, schools."
According to a remark that everyone still did not have enough, since there were claims in MART, the plant admitted that more than half of the potatoes were rejected by the recipients. It seems that it was of poor quality:
"Well, how can it be that there was not enough for everyone? Did you see the rejections they made? Over 57%. There was enough for everybody, and if they didn't want to take potatoes, they weren't satisfied? And then, when no one delivered, we didn't send a single car out of the country. Everyone exported to Russia, Moldova, Serbia, but we didn't send a single car anywhere, only to the domestic market: Minsk, Vitebsk region.
Thus, the company confirmed that there was a shortage of potatoes in the spring due to the sale abroad, mainly to Russia. While in our country the prices are regulated by the state, in our neighbors the price is determined by the market, and it was possible to get much more money for vegetables there. Therefore, producers just wanted to make money, not to incur losses by supplying to the domestic market.
We remind you that on July 12, Lukashenko signed the Law "On Amendments to the Codes on Administrative Responsibility," which introduces administrative responsibility of suppliers and retail chains for failure to fulfill obligations to supply fruit and vegetable products.
The reason was the situation with potatoes - Belarusians began to complain about the shortage of the root vegetable in the spring.
