Minsk is strengthening contacts with the junta.
Lukashenka constantly states that the West is not the only country in the world: we will be friends with the "global South."
The recent ratification of Belarus's agreement with Myanmar was another confirmation of this. The two dictatorships signed a treaty "on mutual protection of classified information". It's strange that it's not about joint space exploration, but who knows: maybe something like that is already being prepared.
We don't know what secrets Lukashenko's Myanmar is aware of, but from now on it is obliged to keep everything in the strictest secrecy, writes "Salidarnasts". One of the articles of the agreement even obliges the parties "not to change the degree of secrecy of classified information and the corresponding classification on its carriers without the prior written consent of the authorized body of the Party that transferred such classified information."
This document in itself would hardly be noteworthy if it did not illustrate a sad trend. Instead of friendship and mutually beneficial trade with well-off neighbors, official Minsk strengthens contacts with the junta, which is brutalizing an impoverished country far away.
