He could be looking at real jail time.
Brazil's Supreme Court has sent the country's former president Jair Bolsonaro to house arrest for violating a ban on social media.
It was reported by BBC.
The court proved that the former president used the social media accounts of his supporters, including his parliamentarian sons, to spread messages that "call for attacks on the Supreme Federal Court and openly support foreign interference in the affairs of the Brazilian judiciary."
Law enforcement agencies added that during rallies in support of Bolsonaro on Sunday, one of his sons briefly put his father on speakerphone during a rally to address protesters.
The Supreme Court also banned Bolsonaro from receiving visitors, except for lawyers or people authorized by the court, and from using a cell phone.
Brazil's supreme court is now hearing a case accusing Bolsonaro of attempting a coup d'état, for which he could face jail time.
The former president has previously been ordered to wear an electronic bracelet, observe curfews and not use social media.
