Russian troops trapped in Sumy region.

The GUR conducted a special operation in Sumshchyna, during which more than 330 Russian military personnel were eliminated. Fighters from the elite Timur unit infiltrated enemy positions in the rear and eliminated dozens of occupiers in close combat, as well as through coordinated drone and artillery strikes, writes The Telegraph.

The media reports that the exact date or location of the battle remains unknown, but Russia's offensive in the Sumy region has stalled in recent weeks. Intercepted radio conversations indicated panic among Russian soldiers who refused to attack Ukrainian positions, justifying themselves with "far-fetched reasons."

Russian offensive in Sumy region - what is known

The goal of the Russian offensive was allegedly to create a so-called "buffer zone" along Ukraine's northeastern border. Ukraine claims that it managed to stop the Russian offensive and even recaptured several settlements.

And a Russian military blogger with the call sign "Severny," according to journalists, reported that Russian forces were encircled near Oleskiyivka in the Sumy region. He wrote: "They have us pinned down. There is water on three sides and Ukrainians on the fourth."
