Trump's Special Envoy Whitkoff Meets With Putin

The U.S. president is awaiting the outcome of the talks.

US special envoy Steve Whitkoff has met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is reported by rossMedia.

"Putin receives special envoy of the US president Whitkoff in the Kremlin, the press service of the head of state said," the propaganda outlet RIA Novosti reported.

At the same time as CNN, before Whitkoff's visit to Moscow, Trump doubted Putin's willingness to stop the war in Ukraine and is likely afraid of becoming a "deceived leader."

A day before the U.S. special envoy's meeting with the Russian president, however, Trump said he would wait until after the talks to decide whether to impose new sanctions against Russia.

"We have a meeting with Russia tomorrow. We'll see what happens. We'll make a decision at that time," he emphasized.

Also the day before Whitkoff's visit, Trump spoke by phone with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to discuss new sanctions against Russia. According to the Ukrainian leader, these sanctions could "significantly change" the Russian economy.

In turn, as CNN emphasized, the U.S. president is increasingly losing patience with Russia's resistance to his peace efforts and called the air attacks on Ukraine "disgusting," accusing Putin of "saying stupid things" during their phone conversations.
