EU To Introduce New Dynamic Ceiling On Russian Oil Prices

The European Union will start applying a dynamic ceiling on Russian oil prices from September 3, 2025 - based on the formula approved as part of the 18th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

This was announced by the European Commission's deputy chief spokeswoman Arianna Podesta in a commentary "European Pravda".

She said that the new price cap will automatically adapt to market conditions.

She also recalled that most of the package's provisions have already been in force since mid-July, while the ban on transactions with 22 new Russian banks will come into force on August 8, 2025.
