Trump Imposed 25% Duties On Goods From India

Because of Russian oil purchases.

Duties of 25% have been imposed against India over its purchase of oil from Russia. Such an executive order was signed by US President Donald Trump.

The US presidential administration may extend the tariff imposed against India today to other countries that import Russian oil.

25% duties will come into effect 21 days after the date of the order.

Donald Trump had earlier criticized India for its significant purchases of energy and military equipment from Russia. He claimed that India and China are the largest buyers of Russian energy, despite calls from the global community to stop supporting Moscow amid the war against Ukraine.
