Ukraine will act together with its allies.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said after a call with Donald Trump and European partners that Russia now seems to be more committed to a ceasefire. The head of state said this in an evening address.
"We discussed what was sounded in Moscow. It seems that Russia is now more set on a ceasefire. The pressure on them is working, but the main thing is that they should not deceive us in details - neither us nor the United States," the head of state said.
He said Ukraine has proposed that its and its partners' national security advisers hold talks soon to determine a common position.
"For us, for Ukraine, this is very important. Ukraine will definitely defend its independence. We all need a long and reliable peace. Russia must end the war that it itself started," the president emphasized.
Ukraine does not officially have a national security adviser, but his functions are usually performed by the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak.
