Germany Has Repaired A Patriot Air Defense System Damaged By A Russian Strike For Ukraine

In July, the SAM was delivered back to Ukraine.

A few months ago, Russian troops significantly damaged the radar station of one of the Patriot SAMs in Ukraine. However, Germany managed to repair it.

Major General Mike Keller, deputy commander of NATO's Security Assistance and Training Program for Ukraine, told FAZ.

Keller said the LRS was taken back to Germany, where experts determined it could not be repaired.

"Since it would have taken several years to replace the radar, experts from the German Luftwaffe tried to repair it themselves and were actually able to do so, spending 16 hours a day Monday through Saturday," the German general said.

He added that the radar unit was delivered back to Ukraine in July and is already operational. Just last week, the first Russian target was intercepted using this very radar unit.
