India's Refineries Have Started Buying Oil From The US, Africa And The Middle East Instead Of Russian Oil

Washington's ultimatum worked.

India's largest state-owned refiners Indian Oil Corp and Bharat Petroleum have bought at least 22 million barrels of non-Russian crude with delivery in September and October, after the U.S. pressured India to stop buying from Russia, writes The Moscow Times.

According to Reuters, citing trade sources, IOC bought 2 million barrels of U.S.-origin Mars crude in its latest tender, 2 million barrels of Reuters calculates that the combined spot purchases by the two state-owned companies for September and October are equivalent to about 6 percent of India's refinery throughput in May.
