There's a Russian connection to the case.
On Monday, September 1, police showed the first footage of the arrest of a suspect in the murder of the former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.
It was reported by the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vygovsky.
"We know: this crime is not accidental. There is a Russian trace in it. Everyone will answer before the law," he said.
According to law enforcers, the detainee planned his crime for a long time before firing shots in Parubiy's direction. It took police 36 hours to reach the suspect and apprehend him.
On August 30, in Lviv's Frankivskyi district, he disguised himself as a courier and opened fire on the politician.
"Eight shots. Cold-blooded cruelty. Even made sure the victim was deceased. And then he tried to cover his tracks - he changed his clothes, got rid of his weapon, tried to hide in Khmelnitschyna," Vygovsky said.
