Ukrainian Air Defense Forces Shot Down More Targets In August Than In July

In August, the Ukrainian army destroyed 6,346 air targets of the Russian occupants, including ballistic and aeroballistic missiles. This was reported by the command of the AFU Air Force on Facebook on September 1.

According to the Ukrainian military, the air defense neutralized during the month such targets:

five Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;

55 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles;

20 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;

20 Kalibr cruise missiles;

four Kh-59/X-69 guided missiles;

nine Iskander-K cruise missiles;

2129 Shahed attack drones;

930 reconnaissance UAVs;

3174 other types of drones.

"Air Force aviation flew 651 missions during August, including about 430 for fighter air cover; more than 150 for fire and air support of troops. [...] The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 438 air targets," the AFU said.

They said that among the targets hit were enemy command posts, logistical support facilities, places where enemy troops and equipment were amassed.

In July, according to the AFU, 6,262 enemy air targets were neutralized.
