The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury Department has issued Belarus a license for transactions involving Belavia, according to the site of the agency. Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump's representative John Cole informed Lukashenko that the sanctions were lifted from the airline.
"The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Treasury Department issues Belarus a general license № 11 'Authorization of transactions involving Belavia (Belavia),'" reads the message on the website of the U.S. Treasury Department.
The license allows transactions involving Belavia or any entity in which Belavia owns, directly or indirectly, 50% or more of shares.
The license does not allow unfreezing of property or transactions, previously subject to sanctions.
