His behavior surprised law enforcement.

A man suspected of stealing a Lexus car belonging to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was detained at Gdansk airport at 6 a.m. on Saturday.

The RMF FM reports.

The car thief was detained at the airport minutes before his flight to Bulgaria. As the RMF FM reporter found out, this is not the first time the detainee has come to the attention of the police - he has already been involved in fraud and crimes against health and life.

The detainee is a 41-year-old resident of Sopot, a Polish citizen, according to the Provincial Police Department in Gdansk.

The man is suspected of stealing a Lexus car belonging to the prime minister, the department said.

To the surprise of law enforcers, he offered no resistance when arrested.

A special intervention team of border guards also joined the operation.

The law enforcers also searched his home and seized evidence that may be useful for further examination of the case.

The man remains at the disposal of the prosecutor's office.

On Wednesday evening, Commissioner Karina Kaminska said police officers from KWP Gdansk had found a Lexus car belonging to Prime Minister Donald Tusk's family, hours after it was reported stolen, in a parking lot in Gdansk.
