In Romania, F-16 Fighter Jets Intercepted A Russian Shahed Aircraft

An air alert was being declared in the eastern region of the country.
The Romanian border region of Tulcea, bordering Ukraine's Odessa region, has declared an air alert, likely caused by a Russian shahede that crossed the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
The Romanian Air Force intercepted a drone in Romanian national airspace, according to Antena 3 CNN Two F-16 fighter jets were raised to do so. The fighters were tracking it 20 kilometers southwest of Kilia Veke when it disappeared from radar.
An air alert in Tulcea was reported by Romanian TV channel PRO-TV.
"On Saturday afternoon, authorities sent a RO-Alert message for the north of Tulmcea county, warning the population of the risk of objects falling from the airspace and recommending protective measures," the publication said.
The Tulcea Emergency Inspectorate said the alert was likely to last 90 minutes. It also said that the Romanian territory was not the target of attacks by the Russian Federation.
"At the same time, we ask citizens to strictly follow the security measures handed down by the Romanian authorities, carefully read the messages received through the RO-Alert system, avoid panic and report to the single emergency number 112 any situation that threatens their safety or if they need help," Romanian rescuers added.
