AFU Completes Encirclement Of The Enemy In Dobropillya

The western excavation has already been completely cleaned up.

Ukrainian forces continue to advance on the so-called Dobropolskiy protrusion. The occupiers involved in the "Russian breakthrough" are under the threat of encirclement, facing a simple choice: captivity or death.

An analyst writes about this Reporting from Ukraine. He claims that the story with the "breakthrough in the area of Dobropillya" is coming to an end, and tells what is happening there now and what factors helped the Ukrainians to turn the situation in their favor.

What is known about the situation

According to Reporting from Ukraine, in the area of the so-called Dobropillya protrusion on the Pokrovsky direction, Ukrainian troops continue to attack the Russians, destroying pockets of their stay. The blogger notes that the occupiers on this section of the front are faced with a simple choice: surrender to the Ukrainian army, which is advancing, or be completely destroyed.

"After successfully penetrating from the high ground in the west, the Ukrainians are now launching attacks from the north as well, thus completing the encirclement of the Russian Dobropillya protrusion. The Ukrainians are using highly trained infantry units to advance, engaging Russian forces along the way," the analyst noted.

Significantly better ground lines of communication have played in favor of Ukrainian forces in the battle on this section of the front: they stretch from Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka, which function as central operational hubs for Ukrainian forces north of Donetsk.

In addition, when Ukrainian supply lines approach the front line, they cross several settlements in a valley between two hills. This blocks signals for Russian drones, which mostly rely on FPV kamikaze drones rather than munitions dropped from drones, the analyst notes.

"The Russian fiber optic system also still only accounts for about 20 percent of the total FPV drones used by the Russians, so the valley the Ukrainians are moving through is largely shielded from most Russian strikes. The buildings in the settlements and the forest belts stretching along them provide additional means of camouflage for Ukrainian infantry units passing through them," explained Reporting from Ukraine.

Another crucial advantage for Ukrainian warriors is the active use of heavy drones like Vampire and Baba Yaga. These drones, the analyst notes, are capable of flying and hovering over the valley, despite the weak signal the Russians suffer from lower above ground.

Reporting from Ukraine emphasizes: geolocation footage of Ukrainian infantrymen advancing south through populated areas "under the watchful eye and in constant communication with Mavic reconnaissance drones" that detect any Russian presence has appeared online.

In one such video, a Russian position was first shelled by the Ukrainians with fragmentation and fugitive shells from grenade launchers. However, when it became clear that these shells could not reach the basement where some of the occupants were hiding, it was decided to hit the position with four Vampire mortar shells. As a result of several direct hits, the cellar along with the occupiers was destroyed.

"Russian infantry attempting to evade Ukrainian attacks from the high ground to the east are also quickly intercepted by Ukrainian FPV drones patrolling the area, as the signal strength is much less disrupted on the high ground and slopes the Russians must first traverse," the analyst added.

He emphasized that in a systematic move south, Ukrainian forces have consolidated full control of Vladimirovka and are expanding the gray zone to fully encompass the Russian bulge.

"The Ukrainians avoided a final strike on the two Russian encirclements further north to lure more Russian troops to try to rescue them while keeping them away from important positions. However, since the trap is now working, there is little reason to maintain these cells, and the latest mop-up operations have already begun," according to Reporting from Ukraine.

Analyst, citing words from Ukrainian soldiers on the ground, also wrote that the so-called western pit has already been fully mopped up, now the focus is on the "eastern pit."

"Every Russian is first offered to surrender as a prisoner, but if they refuse, they are immediately eliminated, as Ukrainian forces are badly needed elsewhere, and supporting a tight perimeter costs a lot of resources. "In general, the Ukrainians close the 'gate' and finish off any Russian soldiers who remain, as Ukrainian soldiers on the ground are already reporting that the POW exchange fund will soon be replenished," writes Reporting from Ukraine.

Analyst adds that in the gray zone, Russian units are being destroyed by drones, while Ukrainian infantry advances, leaving fields strewn with Russian bodies.

At last, Reporting from Ukraine noted that the story of the Russian breakthrough near Dobropillya "is coming to an end," and predicted that "many Russian generals will soon start shifting blame on each other as the hammer of consequences will inevitably come from Moscow's side."
