Military aid will amount to 0.25% of the country's GDP.
Estonia, as this year, will continue to provide Ukraine with military aid at least at the level of 0.25 percent of GDP - that is more than 100 million euros. Most of this amount will be channeled through the products of Estonian companies.
The Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur stated this, the press service of the Estonian Defense Ministry reports.
"Estonia will continue to strongly support Ukraine in Russia's war of aggression. And next year we will stick to the principle that 0.25% of our GDP will go to help Ukraine. We proceed from Ukraine's military needs, and next year Estonian defense industry companies will also play an important role," he said.
The minister also added that Estonia will continue to train Ukrainians and support IT solutions in Ukraine's defense.
Estonian aid
Estonia has provided Ukraine with more than 500 million euros in military aid - that's 1.4 percent of its GDP, putting the country among the world leaders in terms of contribution relative to the economy.
The aid includes Javelin, howitzers and other artillery, anti-tank weapons, mortars, transportation, communications, field hospitals (along with Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Iceland), medical supplies, protective equipment and dry rations.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Estonia has trained more than 1,500 Ukrainian military personnel and, together with Luxembourg in 2023, established an IT coalition to develop a secure ICT infrastructure for the AFU according to NATO standards.
