Defense Minister Dovile Shakaliene has said that the peculiarity of the current Russian-Belarusian exercise "Zapad" is that it focuses on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

With the start of the active phase of the Russian-Belarusian military exercise "Zapad" currently underway, National Defense Minister Dovile Shakaliene says the current exercise is heavily focused on the use of drones.

"The difference from previous exercises is not only that their scale is much smaller than during the previous training period, but also that this time there is a big focus on the use of drones," she said.

The minister said the probability of incidents during the exercise remains high, but there is no evidence that "actions are planned to violate Lithuanian territory or provocation."
