"Our relationship remains very strong."
American President Donald Trump plans to talk with Chinese leader Si Jinping later this week. He noted that the talks between representatives of the United States and China in Europe on trade issues went "very well".
The White House head said this on the social network Truth Social, reports RBC-Ukraine.
"The big trade meeting in Europe between the United States and China went very well! It will be wrapped up soon. Also, an agreement was reached on a 'certain' company that the young people in our country really wanted to save. They will be very happy!", Trump wrote.
The American leader also announced a conversation with Xi Jinping, which is scheduled to take place on September 19.
"I will be speaking with President Xi on Friday. Our relationship remains very strong," Trump added.
The fourth meeting between U.S. and Chinese officials in four months began in Madrid on Sept. 14.
The plan was to discuss pending trade issues and a looming deadline to sell a unit of Chinese video app TikTok to the United States.
The representatives were also expected to discuss Washington's demands to G7 countries and European allies for duties against China, which are aimed at stopping the purchase of Russian oil.
At the same time, China threatened to impose strong retaliatory measures if NATO countries, under pressure from the United States, try to impose duties over Russian oil purchases.
