Ukraine's president revealed the details.
The intrusion of Russian drones into NATO airspace is aimed at sending two important signals to the Europeans. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with Sky News.
First and foremost, the president said, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is "testing NATO."
"He wants to see what NATO is ready for, what it is capable of, both diplomatically and politically, and how the local population will react to it."
But there is another important signal that Putin is sending to the Europeans, Zelensky noted.
"In my opinion, they are sending another signal: 'Don't you dare provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems, you may need them yourself,'" he emphasized.
