SBU To Conduct Counterintelligence Activities In Lviv For Three Days

The Security Service of Ukraine has reported about counterintelligence (security) activities on the territory of Lviv, which will last from September 16 to 18 this year.

The SBU directorate in Lviv region reports this in Facebook.

The National Police, Patrol Police, Military Law Enforcement Service of the AFU, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the National Guard will also be involved in the events.

The actions of law enforcers will cover the entire territory of Lviv.

According to the SBU, the purpose of the measures is to prevent terrorist and sabotage manifestations, as well as to neutralize threats of intelligence and subversive activities against the Ukrainian state and increase the security of citizens in the conditions of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.

Security measures will be carried out taking into account the legal regime of martial law.

There will be restrictions on passage and passage through the streets of the city, as well as will be checked documents of citizens and search In case of reasonable suspicion in respect of individuals, additional checks may be conducted.

At the same time, the territory and premises of public use will be searched to identify prohibited items.

"The SBU asks citizens to understand the possible inconvenience and properly respond to the lawful actions and requirements of law enforcement officers, to carry identity documents, to observe the curfew regime," the report said.

What preceded

An incumbent parliamentarian and former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv on August 30.

On September 4, law enforcers detained a guy and a girl in Lviv "on a hot shot" who, on the instructions of Russian special services, had planted explosives under the car of a military officer in a public place.
