Media: Ukraine Has Transferred Its Only An-70 Airplane To Poland

This is the first known flight of the machine since the outbreak of full-scale war.

Ukraine has deployed a single An-70 airplane to Poland, the machine's first known flight since the start of a full-scale war launched by Russia in 2022. This was reported by analysts Militarnyi.

According to data from the monitoring resource Polish Military Radar, on Monday, September 15, there was a flight of a Ukrainian An-70 aircraft with the flight number 02 "blue". Flightradar24 service data shows that the aircraft entered Polish airspace in the afternoon, turning on the transponder only over its territory.

The publication notes that for security reasons, information about flights of Ukrainian transport aviation has not been disclosed since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

An-70 - the only aircraft of this type - was officially adopted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2015. After being modernized by Antonov, it returned to flying in July 2021, including during preparations for the 30th anniversary of Independence.

This is not the first time Ukrainian aircraft have been redeployed to Poland. In October 2023, a prototype of the An-178-100P military transport aircraft also flew to the Polish city of Bydgoszcz, where it landed at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski airport.
