Ukraine and the Czech Republic are strengthening cooperation in the field of reconstruction. The countries agreed to speed up the signing of the G2G intergovernmental agreement, which will pave the way for large-scale investment projects starting from 2026.
About this reports the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Ukraine and the Czech Republic have reached an agreement on the early signing of an intergovernmental agreement (G2G), which will become the basis for the implementation of joint rehabilitation projects.
The talks were held within the framework of the meeting of the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Alexey Sobolev with the Czech delegation headed by the Commissioner of the Czech Government for the reconstruction of Ukraine Tomasz Kopechny and the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic Marek Mora.
The Czech Republic has already received 188 million euros in loan guarantees from the European Investment Fund to finance projects in the private and public sectors. Their practical implementation is scheduled for 2026. They also discussed the expansion of cooperation in industry, energy, investment, waste and water management.
"We are sincerely grateful to the Czech Republic for consistent support - in particular, for participation in humanitarian demining, the initiative "Grain from Ukraine", as well as for the fact that even in the conditions of war 220 Czech companies continue to work in our country. Our goal is to deepen cooperation through the signing of the intergovernmental agreement and the Industrial Ramstein program," Oleksiy Sobolev stressed.
Industry and Energy
The agreement provides for an increase in the limit of insurance coverage from the EGAP agency, which will make it possible to implement larger-scale projects. In addition, Ukraine will transfer to the Czech Republic a list of industrial equipment needed by war-affected enterprises. Within the framework of the program it is planned to provide grants to Czech companies for the supply of equipment and components.
The Czech side expressed readiness to join projects in the energy sector on the terms of public-private partnership and concessions, including oil and gas production in Poltava and Lviv regions.
Ecology and infrastructure
The Czech Republic will help develop river basin management plans, modernize water quality monitoring laboratories and study soil pollution.
To coordinate initiatives, it was decided to open an office of the Czech Development Agency (CDA) in Kyiv by the end of 2025. Also, representatives of the Czech Republic confirmed participation in international events: the UN conference on humanitarian demining in Tokyo (October 22-23, 2025) and the ReBuild Ukraine 2025 forum in Warsaw (November 13-14, 2025). Investment seminars are planned for spring 2026, including on attracting venture capital investments in the mining sector.
