Zelensky: A Year Of War Costs Ukraine $120 Billion

Half of this amount is covered by the Ukrainian state budget.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has met with the head of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola in Kiev. During a joint press conference, he said that a year of war costs Ukraine 120 billion dollars. Half of this amount - 60 billion dollars - is planned to be covered by the Ukrainian budget, with another equal amount to be found.

The Ukrainian head of state expressed hope that the war would end this year and there would be no need for additional funding.

"Plan A for us is to end the war, plan B is 120 billion dollars," Zelensky said.

The president also told a press conference with Metsola that Ukraine will receive missiles for Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, as well as ammunition for U.S. HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. These supplies will be included in the first two military aid packages under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List program.
