Ukrainian Intelligence Is Forming A Unit Of Indigenous Peoples Of The Russian Federation

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine together with the recruiting platform Lobby X announced the recruitment of volunteers for the special unit "Nomad", operating within the International Legion.

The representatives of indigenous peoples of Russia of Turkic and Mongolian origin are invited to participate: Tatars, Bashkirs, Kalmyks, Altaians and Yakuts, who live on the territory of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian intelligence reminds: Moscow for centuries has pursued an imperial policy, depriving these peoples of political rights and cultural identity. They have traditionally been used as "cannon fodder" in Russia's wars of aggression.
The creation of the "Nomad" unit is aimed at reversing this trend and allowing the peoples themselves to fight for their own future.
It is noted that the "Nomad" was formed in early 2025 and already consists mainly of military men from Kalmyk, Tatar, Bashkir and Yakut communities. The main goal of the unit is to contribute to the collapse of the Russian Federation and the formation of independent nation-states on its territory.
GUR emphasizes that participation in this unit is seen as a step towards restoring historical justice and a chance for the peoples, who have been oppressed by the Russian authorities for centuries, to determine their own fate.
