Zelensky Reveals What He Will Talk To Trump About In New York

Thirty-eight delegations will participate in the summit.

President Vladimir Zelensky will go to New York to the UN General Assembly. He will talk to US leader Donald Trump about security guarantees for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this while talking to journalists on September 19, according to RBC-Ukraine correspondent.

He noted that a summit will be held on the return of Ukrainian children who were kidnapped by Russia. Today there are 38 delegations that are ready to take part in the summit.

"There will also be a Crimean platform. We also count on somewhere around three dozen countries. Also in such a broad format. There will be a large number of bilateral meetings. Business, technology, defense, "mineral business". This will be united by an economic big meeting," Zelensky said.

According to the head of state, there will probably be a meeting of the first ladies of Ukraine and the United States on the humanitarian issue, on children.

Talks with Trump

Vladimir Zelensky said that in New York with Trump will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine.

"We have prepared the basis for security guarantees, which Europe is ready to go to, taking into account that the United States of America will be around. We have held many discussions, there was a dialog at different levels, including the leadership of our armies and general staffs with the Europeans, with the Americans," the Ukrainian president said.

Zelensky recalled that there was a meeting between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the US president. At it, it was agreed what things Zelensky and Trump will discuss at a bilateral meeting in New York.

"I would like to get for myself just these signals, how close we are to understanding that security guarantees will be from all partners such as we need," Zelensky said.

Zelensky's visit to New York

The Foreign Ministry said earlier that President Volodymyr Zelensky will lead the Ukrainian delegation to the UN General Assembly in New York.

Also, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that US President Donald Trump is likely to meet with Zelensky in the near future in New York, where the leaders will gather for the UN General Assembly.

Reminder that the high-level week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly will last from September 23 to 29.
