Ukraine Imposes Sanctions On Politicians In Moldova Working For The Kremlin

Zelensky signed three packages of sanctions at once.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree on sanctions against politicians from the orbit of Moldovan oligarch-fugitive Ilan Shor working to destabilize Moldova in the interests of the Kremlin.

According to "European Pravda", the relevant decree with the list appeared on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Zelensky announced in an evening address on September 20 that he had signed decrees on three new packages of Ukrainian sanctions implementing the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council, and one of them concerns Moldova.

- Three packages of sanctions were signed by me. In particular, against propagandists who help Russia, against various individuals who do business in the occupied territory and fill the budget of Russia and support this system of evil, as well as against individuals who destabilize Moldova in the interests of Moscow. Ukraine is helping Moldova and we are interested in the stability of our neighbor, in Moldova's success," the president said.

The list includes 11 people, the most prominent of them being the leader of the autonomous region of Gagauzia Eugenia Gutsul, elected from Ilan Shor's party, who is also under EU sanctions and was recently sanctioned by Canada.

Besides her, the list includes politician Victoria Furtune, who is also under EU sanctions and has proposed, among other things, that Budjak, a historic region that is now the south of Ukraine's Odessa region, be annexed to Moldova.

It is also Vasile Bolia, whom the pro-Russian Victory bloc tried to nominate for president.

Dmitri Konstantinov and Victor Petrov are influential politicians in Gagauzia who worked for the Russian Federation even before Eugenia Gutsul came to power.

Besides them, the list includes Ion Mahu, a former employee of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Natalia Parasca, the head of the "Revival" party from Shor's orbit, deputies Constantin Starish, an ideologue deputy of the "socialists" and Bogdan Tsydrea, the leader of an organization of ex-soldiers, Iurie Ciofu, and Igor Shornikov, a former employee of the "Foreign Ministry" of the unrecognized Transnistria.
