The purpose of the military maneuvers has been named.
Poland and Sweden have started the joint SNEX Gotland Sentry exercise in the Baltic Sea.
Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote about it on social network X.
On Monday, September 22, Poland and Sweden started the joint military exercise SNEX Gotland Sentry, which aims to secure the Baltic Sea.
"We are starting the SNEX Gotland Sentry exercise - the first such joint operation between Poland and Sweden. This is the result of an agreement on defense cooperation signed on September 2 this year," he said.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said the document covers operations in the Baltic Sea and the development of cooperation in defense technology.
This is not the first SNEX exercise that Poland has held. In particular, in February, the country held such exercises in the Baltic Sea.
This came after a series of incidents involving damage to underwater infrastructure in the Baltic and threats posed by a "shadow fleet" of tankers carrying Russian oil.
In Estonia, an unscheduled exercise of the Defense Forces began on September 19, aimed at practicing actions in case of air border violations.
