Kremlin Announces Putin's 'important Statements'

The statements will be made at a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council.

Russia's dictator Vladimir Putin will make important statements today at a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council. This was reported by the Russian ruler's spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

"We expect that today at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, sometime after half past three, the president will make a number of important statements," he said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

What topics the statements will be devoted to, Peskov did not disclose.

Putin regularly holds operational meetings with permanent members of the Security Council. The dictator is its chairman. The last such meeting took place on August 29.

Permanent members of the Security Council are:

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin;

Chairmen of the State Duma and Federation Council Vyacheslav Volodin and Valentina Matvienko;

Deputy Chairman of the Council Dmitry Medvedev;

Defense Minister Andrey Belousov;

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov;

Foreign Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov;

Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin;

Presidential Chief of Staff Anton Vaino;

Minister of the Interior Vladimir Kolokoltsev and others.
