China Came To Subdue Lukashenko

The border's been on lockdown for 10 days.

On September 20, a representative of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Li Xi flew to Minsk. In the morning of September 22, he met with Aliaksandr Lukashenka, and he also has a meeting with the head of the so-called House of Representatives. This is all against the background of the fact that last week the Chinese Foreign Minister promised Poland to hold a "frank conversation" with Alexander Lukashenko to unblock the Belarusian-Polish border, writes planbmedia.io.

The border has been under lock and key for 10 days

Reminder, on September 12, Poland completely closed the border with Belarus. At first it was stated that it was for the time of the exercise "West-2025," which took place until September 16.

But after the exercise, Poland made a rather predictable decision not to open the border. Warsaw explained this by concern for its citizens and said that traffic will be restored when the border is completely safe and when it is confirmed by the data of the Polish intelligence services.

Later, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that if China helps to stop Belarusian provocations, the border will be opened. Polish media also wrote that Wang Yi made it clear to Sikorski that the Chinese authorities "will have a frank conversation with Lukashenko" on the subject.

"It's not my fault"

At the meeting with the Chinese representative, the one who came to subdue tried to immediately turn the blame on Poland.

"There have been a lot of insinuations in the media lately, especially in connection with your visit to Belarus, about our relations with Poland and the closure of the border between Belarus and Poland. I realize that this is, most likely, an unfriendly move by the Poles - a political, some kind of image, probably, as the Poles believe, against the People's Republic of China. But not at all economic. Since such an empire as China can easily deal with this problem," said Lukashenko.

After that, he took the Chinese representative by the elbow to his office to complain about Poles or even Russians - they say that the drones flying to Poland were not Belarusian, the exercises are over, and everyone in Minsk is sitting quieter than water and on two chairs.

"One on one, if you don't mind, after our meeting [I would like] to tell you something and share our data on this topic. It's not about Belarus here. Well, Poland is playing the role of some kind of a prancing horse in favor of other states,"

" - Lukashenko said.

Whether China's attempt to unblock the border has brought results will be clear closer to the end of this week or month. Most likely, the border will be opened for cargo. But it's still unclear who should convince Minsk to behave calmly at the border to open it for ordinary Belarusians.
