Police are searching for the missing UAVs.
In Denmark and Norway, the appearance of unknown drones caused airports to suspend operations on the night of Tuesday, September 23. Police launched an investigation, but the drones disappeared.
About it reports The Guardian.
Because of the incidents dozens of flights were delayed or canceled, and some planes were diverted to alternate airports.
In particular, in Copenhagen, where Scandinavia's largest airport is located, takeoffs and landings were stopped for almost four hours.
Work resumed Tuesday morning when the drones left the area on their own. Copenhagen police, along with intelligence and the Armed Forces, are investigating the incident.
Preliminary reports suggest there may have been two or three large drones in the airport area, but none have been seized.
"The police have launched an investigation to determine what kind of drones they are. The drones have disappeared and we have not taken any of them," said the deputy assistant commissioner of Copenhagen police.
A similar situation occurred in Oslo. The airport first restricted airplane traffic to one lane and then suspended operations completely. Some flights were diverted to other cities, others were delayed.
About four in the morning flights resumed. Police have detained two people in connection with illegal drone flights in downtown Oslo.
Police in Denmark and Norway are cooperating to determine if the two incidents are related. The investigation is ongoing.
