Ahead Of Trump's UN Speech, Large-scale Wiretapping And Jamming Network Revealed

U.S. Secret Service agents seized more than 100,000 SIM cards and 300 servers outside the UN building in New York.

The United States Secret Service (USSS) began searching for those involved in the placement of electronic equipment for wiretapping and interference 55 km from the UN headquarters in New York, writes The New York Times (NYT). According to the publication, agents seized more than 100,000 SIM cards and 300 servers connected to a network capable of sending 30 million text messages per minute. The devices could also easily disable several cell towers.

Federal agency published photos of the rooms where the servers with antennas and SIM cards were located. In some places, the equipment occupied racks from floor to ceiling.

Fox News specifies that eliminated "telecommunications threat" on the territory of three counties of New York.

One version, the network of electronic devices may belong to foreign intelligence, according to another - used by the criminal cartel. The first suspects were identified by the information found on SIM cards and servers, the NYT notes.

"We will continue to check whether their plan was aimed at disrupting the work of the UN General Assembly and disrupting the communication of government and emergency services during the official visit of world leaders to New York and its environs," the publication quotes the chief agent of the New York branch of the USSS Matt McCool.

McCool said the Secret Service learned about the location of the illegally installed equipment through another investigation - about anonymous telephone threats received in the spring of 2025 to three high-ranking U.S. government officials.

It should be noted that Donald Trump is speaking without a teleprompter at the UN General Assembly - it turned off for unknown reasons.

"I don't mind giving this speech without a teleprompter because the teleprompter doesn't work," he said, laughing. "I'm very happy to be here with you and to speak from the heart in this way. I can only say that whoever is running that teleprompter is in big trouble," Trump added.

On September 9, 2025, the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly began in New York City. It will conclude on September 8, 2026. All 193 UN member states are participating.
