What's wrong with him?
The armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a Gerbera drone across Ukraine, which for unknown reasons was not equipped with a CRPA antenna.
The photo of the downed Russian Gerbera drone was published by Ukrainian radio technology specialist Sergey "Flesh" Beskrestnov in his Telegram channel. The post was later deleted, writes "Focus".
The expert noted that instead of mounting a CRPA antenna on the Gerbera designed to protect the drone from jamming by electronic warfare (EW), the Russians simply glued a plastic antenna cover onto the foam. At the same time, the antenna itself was not found on the UAV.
"Thought it was hard to surprise me," Flush wrote.
The radio technology specialist said the motives behind the decision are not clear. According to him, this case also shows that one should not evaluate the capabilities of UAVs only by photos on the web, as was the case with the drones in Poland.
What is known about the Gerbera drone
The Gerbera drones are used by the Russians as false targets to distract Ukraine's air defense (AD) from the more expensive Shaheds. This UAV is made up of cheap materials such as cardboard, plywood and foam, so the enemy is not sorry to lose them.

The Gerbers also conduct visual reconnaissance. Despite the low quality of cameras and video transmission channels, the drones can transmit over LTE channels the fixed locations of Ukrainian air defense. For this purpose, the UAVs receive SIM cards of Ukrainian operators.
Sometimes the enemy uses Gerbera drones to carry out strikes. Ukraine has already recorded versions equipped with a fragmentation warhead.
